PURPLE CROWNED FAIRY is one of the thirty six species of hummingbirds I saw in Costa Rica this past spring. PURPLE CROWNED FAIRY is a gorgeous classical bloom of medium purple with slightly lighter sepals. The very strong dark purple eye and edge with a bold, crinkly, gold outer edge complete this outstanding flower. PURPLE CROWNED FAIRY being an early, has a very long bloom season with 3-way branching and 18 to 20 buds. Fertile both ways.
